NLTTA 2019 Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation
This very successful event was held at the Crofters Garstang last Sunday afternoon and attended by over forty friends and guests.
President Frank Kerry welcomed the guests and the prizes were presented by guests of honour Simon Wilson of Ribble Pro Cycling and Rebecca Rimmington of Team Merlin Cycles. Simon aka “The Burnley Valverde” has just been recently crowned World Champion at the UCI World Masters Track Champs in the 35-39 years old Scratch Race, he also broke the 30mph barrier for 25 miles this season on the notoriously slow Cheshire course J2/9.
Rebecca is a former GB cycling squad member, Professional rider with the WNT Cycling team and a former GB rower. She now competes in triathlon having recently won her age group in the
70.3km Challenge Majorca Tri.
The prize winners were introduced by Matt Stell and following the presentations Si and Bex took part in a hugely entertaining and informative questions and answer session.
Among the presentations was one for the George Nowland Memorial Trophy in memory of NLTTA past chairman and supporter George Nowland. The trophy was presented to Richard Bideau of Pendle Forest CC by Val Nowland and her family.
