About
NLTTA SpoCo aims to encourage the use of “Sporting” courses for cycle Time Trials as an alternative to the use of traffic-laden dual-carriageway courses. It does this by means of collating and publishing league tables for selected events, mainly in Cumbria and Lancashire, but also including neighbouring areas.
The events selected are existing events held under CTT rules by existing clubs. They are selected on the basis of the nature of the course used and are held between February and July.
A prize presentation will be held at the final event of the season, usually in mid November.
League tables will be produced after each event and they will be posted on the website as soon as possible following the event.
Rules
The competition is open to any rider whose club is affiliated to “NLTTA” at a cost of £20 per club. Any club can affiliate. Individual riders do not have to make any claims for points since they are awarded automatically following club affiliation.
Competitors are only eligible for points in events following club affiliation.
The competition is run on a points basis. For each event 120 points are awarded for first place, decreasing by 1 point for each subsequent place.
Riders who are not in SpoCo affiliated clubs will be disregarded in the points allocation. Only competitors appearing on the result sheet will be awarded points.
Riders can enter as many events as they wish.
The general competition is determined by each rider’s best 5 results.
The club prize will be determined by the combined total of the top 3 riders points total from each club from any of the general competitions.
A detailed league table will be posted on the website at regular intervals to enable teams and individuals to monitor their progress.

In order to qualify for a Category prize riders must complete 5 rides, prizes will be awarded in each category only if there are at least two qualified riders.
The category of each competitor is fixed on the first event in February.
A rider who changes club during the competition will transfer his/her points to the new club provided the competition has not passed the first event in May. Thereafter, the rider will continue to be identified (for SpoCo purposes) with the old club and continue to accumulate points for that club.
Each club will be required to nominate a SpoCo contact who will be responsible for displaying NLTTA SpoCo information at club gatherings. The SpoCo organiser will send out regular mailings throughout the duration of the competition.
Ties for the prize categories in the final league table will be resolved by counting the number of 1st places. If still equal, 2nd places will be counted, then 3rds etc.
