Course Details L1024

Start on B5272 (Park lane) opposite metal gate on east side of road
0.27miles north of bridge over the Lancaster canal. Proceed north
along B5272 to Cockerham where left (3.30m) onto A588 (Lancaster
road). Proceed southwest on A58 to Stakepool, where left at Elletson
Arms onto Garstang road (8.12m). Continue on Garstang road to finish
at east end of long metal field gate approximately 200 yards before
junction with Island lane (10m).

This year we will be running the following competitions:-

NLTTA Association Championship

  • NLTTA Speed BAR
  • NLTTA Distance BAR
  • NLTTA Points Championship
  • Junior Association Championship
  • Championships at 10, 25, 50, 100 miles, 12 hours and Hill Climb.  The Championships are open for men, ladies, juniors, school boys and girls
  • SPOCO Championship
  • Hill Climb points competition.

Prize money is available for men and women in both the Points Competition and the Hill Climb Points competition.

NLTTA Awards Lunch

Good morning good people of the NLTTA! The premier social event of the year is but a month away. Sunday 19th November NLTTA awards lunch. Arrive from 12 noon with the aim to serve food at 1pm, followed by the awards presentation. 3-course meal with tea or coffee. Food suitable for vegetarians and vegans available. Standard price £25 per person. Trophy winners £20 and the same for partner. Junior winners may claim the same reduced rate of £20 for their parents. Children’s meals up to age 12 will be around £12 depending on what they have, children’s menu or smaller portions of the adult versions.

Venue Garstang Hotel & Country Club, Catterall, Garstang, PR3 1YE.

I have all the trophies back in (thank you) other than the Men’s 50 mile trophy which appears to have been abducted by aliens.

The NLTTA will be running the Combined Clubs 10 Mîle Time Trial on the new L1024 course near Winmarleigh on Saturday 25th March 2023 at 2pm. Entry information has been sent out to club secretaries today, closing date is 19th March.

Clubs submitting entries should provide a marshal, these events cannot happen without helpers. Anyone able to help out on the day could they please contact Derek Parkinson on the email address above.

Next up is the NLTTA hill climb championships on Sunday up The Struggle, Ambleside on closed roads. Good luck to all our riders.

Special mention of two new NLTTA 12 hour records since the decision was taken to allow National 12’s to count in the BAR and for records. Andrew Whiteside (Sprinfield Financial RT) completed the distance in an epic 298.62 miles to beat Gethin Butler’s 1994 record. Joanna Cebrat riding for Bury Clarion CC also broke the Womens record held by Carol Westmorland since 2004. Joanna rode 258.13 miles for 3rd place in the National 12 held on the Welsh R12/16 course on 4 September.
